Partner spotlight: Lemlist
Lemlist is a multichannel sales outreach platform for cold email and social outreach, best known for personalization. It connects to OutboundSync as a beta integration, so its outreach activity can land in your CRM.
Who’s behind Lemlist
Lemlist was founded in 2018 in Paris by Guillaume Moubeche together with Vianney and François Lecroart. Famously, it started with about $1,000 in capital and grew bootstrapped into a well-known outreach brand, part of the wider lempire suite of tools. Guillaume Moubeche is the company’s public face and long-time CEO.
What Lemlist does
Lemlist’s calling card is personalization at scale — custom images, dynamic landing pages, and multichannel sequences that mix email and social touches. That focus made it popular with sales teams and agencies who want outreach that feels less templated than a plain mail merge.
How Lemlist structures your data
Lemlist organizes outreach into campaigns. Each campaign holds the leads you’re contacting and the multichannel sequence they move through — a mix of email and social steps. As that sequence runs, every touch becomes an event: on email, that’s sends, opens, link clicks, replies, bounces, and unsubscribes; on social, it’s connection requests, accepted connections, messages, replies, profile views, and voice notes. Each event carries its campaign, lead, and timestamp, and a lead can be marked with a category — Interested or Not Interested — as they respond.
Lemlist coordinates the outreach itself: sequencing steps across channels, pausing on a reply, and reporting on how those campaigns are performing. OutboundSync’s job is to make sure none of that stays trapped in Lemlist. It reads each event and lands it on the matching record in HubSpot or Salesforce in near-real time, so the outreach history sits next to the emails, calls, and notes your reps already work from.
How it works with OutboundSync
You run your campaigns in Lemlist, and OutboundSync syncs that activity into your CRM — one way, in beta — so the touches your team runs show up on the matched records your reps work from.
Two newer controls make that sync more deliberate. Category-based filters let you sync only the leads worth acting on: OutboundSync can hold a lead’s Lemlist history until they’re marked with a category you’ve allowlisted — say, only Interested leads — then release the full history into the CRM once they qualify. Lemlist keeps this simple with two categories, Interested and Not Interested, and the filtering needs no Lemlist API key.
Block lists run the other direction. You can push a HubSpot list or Salesforce report into Lemlist’s Unsubscribe settings as suppression — email addresses and domains on the email channel, social profile URLs on the social channel — so the people your CRM says not to contact stay out of your Lemlist campaigns. Activity still flows one way, from Lemlist into your CRM; block lists are the exception that sends CRM data back to Lemlist.
