Your integration options

Can I use an existing tool?

HighLevel is available as a direct beta CRM connection in OutboundSync. Connect the HighLevel sub-account in OutboundSync, then work with the team to create the source and confirm the first Contact note. The HighLevel rollout is intentionally lighter than Salesforce or HubSpot: it is one-way only and writes a plain-text Note on the matched Contact. The advantage is a clean way to log Clay activity on HighLevel Contacts without custom middleware.

Where OutboundSync excels

OutboundSync helps teams land webhook-driven outbound activity as a plain-text Note on the matched HighLevel Contact without requiring manual logging or custom middleware.

  • One-way outbound email activity synced as a plain-text Note on the HighLevel Contact
  • Connect HighLevel in-app, then work with the OutboundSync team on the source
  • One-way sync that keeps the beta rollout simple and conflict-free

And we're here to help. Our customer success team has helped hundreds of companies sync tens of millions of records.

HighLevel beta is currently one-way only and lighter than Salesforce or HubSpot in configurability and depth.

How onboarding works

  1. Connect HighLevel: Add HighLevel as a Connected Account in OutboundSync and authorize the HighLevel sub-account (Location) with OAuth. The HighLevel email must match the OutboundSync user.
  2. Connect Clay: Connect Clay and select it when creating your HighLevel webhook receiver.
  3. Create the webhook receiver: Work with the OutboundSync team to create the HighLevel webhook receiver so Clay activity can flow into HighLevel.
  4. Run a test sync: Confirm Clay activity as a plain-text Note on a real HighLevel Contact before launch.
  5. Go live with the OutboundSync team: Launch with guided source setup and confirm the first production Note in HighLevel.

Need clarification?

  • What data does OutboundSync write to HighLevel?
OutboundSync syncs one-way email activity from Clay as a plain-text Note on the matched HighLevel Contact.
  • Which HighLevel objects can it update?
Each event writes a plain-text Note on the matched or created HighLevel Contact. Companies, opportunities, pipelines, and tasks are not part of the beta. See the HighLevel CRM beta guide for lookup methods and setup.
  • Do I need admin access to set it up?
Yes. Connect HighLevel from CRM Settings in OutboundSync with Location OAuth. The HighLevel email must match the OutboundSync user. Source setup and the first test Note are handled with the OutboundSync team.
  • Is the HighLevel integration one-way or two-way?
HighLevel beta is one-way only. Activity flows from your sales engagement platform into HighLevel.
  • Can synced Notes be used in HighLevel filters and views?
Yes. Teams can use the synced Notes on Contacts in the filters and views they build in HighLevel. OutboundSync does not ship prebuilt filters or views.
  • Can I do this with Zapier, Make, or n8n?
You can use no-code builders for simple Clay automations, but step-based runs are costly and maintenance-heavy as event volume grows. OutboundSync provides a pre-built Clay CRM sync path with searchable historical logs beyond 30 days and usage-based pricing tied to sequencer activity.
  • When do I need a custom integration instead of no-code automation?
Custom middleware is best when your team wants to own every integration edge case. OutboundSync gives you a faster path with native CRM app capabilities, managed support, and a consistent outbound property model so upstream Clay changes do not force downstream rebuilds.
  • What breaks first when this scales?
Clay programs at scale need durable event handling to avoid attribution and routing drift. OutboundSync is designed for duplicates, idempotency, queueing, and burst resilience across production outbound workflows.
  • How is this Clay HighLevel integration priced?
HighLevel beta access is handled with the OutboundSync team. We scope the current rollout based on platform, volume, and setup requirements during onboarding.
  • Which Clay tier/plan do I need?
OutboundSync is compatible with every Clay plan (Free, Starter, Explorer, Pro, and Enterprise) because it integrates with Clay's Sequences product.
